DIY What I Learned From My First Year Of Blogging

I started this spider web log 1 twelvemonth agone today, on Jan 3rd, 2012. I began alongside this rattling simple post. Along the class of a year, I learned therefore much close myself; much to a greater extent than than I would bring ever expected. So, inwards celebration of my firstly blogiversary, I'm merely going to portion a footling of what I learned inwards the yesteryear year, in addition to and therefore run out you lot alongside a twosome of my favorite posts. Not necessarily the most pop posts I've done (I shared those here earlier), but merely my personal favorites.

So, what did I learn?
Here are the hand 5.

1. I learned to believe inwards myself. No affair what. There are enough of people who volition tell you lot you can't do something or that you lot shouldn't. Choose to ignore the naysayers. Instead, environment yourself alongside those who intend you lot can. Blogging has taught me to apply this same regulation to every expression of my life.

2. I learned people are good. There are therefore many kind, supportive, generous, in addition to appreciative people out there. I never expected for people to live on therefore nice. I fully expected to lay on my crash helmet in addition to brace for impact. But the hateful comments never came. Quite the opposite happened. I met therefore many amazing readers who really appreciated what I did, in addition to were ever therefore sweetness in addition to supportive of my (sometimes failed) attempts to hotglue materials together. As of this day, at that spot are tons of readers that I really know yesteryear refer because of their constant support.

3. I learned to live on myself. The firstly iv months of my blogging were a hot mess. It took me awhile to discovery my ain style. My decorating was sometimes bad, in addition to my writing was oft bad, too. I spent a lot of fourth dimension learning in addition to improving. Eventually, I kinda establish my vocalism in addition to realized that no affair what, the learning volition never stop.

4. I've learned that you lot bring to start somewhere. It's therefore slow to acquire overwhelmed yesteryear life's imperfections. But things volition never live on perfect. Start where you lot are, in addition to brand the best of what you lot have.

5. Don't compare your outset to someone else's middle or end. I learned that this is my journey, in addition to the exclusively soul I require to compare myself to is the soul I was yesterday. Everyone's path volition live on different.

And now, before I go, I'll run out you lot alongside my favorite posts from the year. These posts aren't the most beautiful, or fifty-fifty eloquent. They're merely the ones where I portion my life, in addition to perchance a funny storey or two.

Thank you lot therefore much for stopping yesteryear today! Thank you lot for your support, kindness, in addition to constant encouragement! And most of all, thank you lot for celebrating alongside me!
I'm doing a toe touching inwards your honor.

(This was my sibling Christmas picture. It's a time-honored tradition.)
